Hi!  I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla GLi.  Could you please tell me how to turn off the airbag on the front passenger seat?

Hello Melanie:

I would love to be able to help you on this one, but your vehicle does not allow individual systems to be disconnected.  You only have the option of shutting down the whole airbag systems or not.  Factories began installing seat sensors and shutoff options in the early to mid 2000s, but not in the 90's.  The only other choice you have is to find a shop that will be able to install an aftermarket shut off switch (which may still be available on the web).  Just make sure they know what they are doing and are familiar with the system enough to install this non-factory part.  We used to do many of them back then, but the market dried up and they manufacturers stopped selling the switches.  Here is a link to one that we are aware of, but I don't know if they are still available
