Question
QUESTION: Hi I am trying to help my Grandpa with his 2001-2002 STS Cadi, He was told he needed a new main blower motor But I took it out and hooked it up to the battery and it works great but not when installed the car , tho the rear blower motor works fine. looking at the wiring schematic there's a Blower Motor Control Processor between the dash controls and the blower motor that I think maybe bad but not sure how to tell . His 86th B-day is Tuesday and I'd love to get his air flowing again any help is more then appreciated Thanks .   Brian.

ANSWER: Hello,

One of the fine complaints on Cadillacs going back as far as 1982. These were also notorious for bad BCMs (Body Control Modules) and speed control. Don't know what you are using for schematics. The best thing I would tell you is download the factory service manual for $30 for the car at http://www.alldata.com. There are flow charts there tht will take the guess work out of the diagnoses. The nice thing is that you can download instantly and it is good for a year on any computer.

Good Luck!

QUESTION: before I buy it would that be the same info as Mitchell ondemand ? again thanks for you help :)

Answer
Hello,

Although Mitchell on Demand is relatively good for information, it still does not have the detail the factory service manual does for the vehicle. I have used Mitchell over the years, but the factory service manual is farm more specific when dealing with the inherent issues Cadillac is notorious for.
I generate no profit from recommending alldata. I just feel nothing can beat the all inclusive flow charts for diagnoses that the factory manual has to offer.

Good luck!
