Without seeing what happened, I cannot begin to guess.
Excuse me? Smoking dashboards are not a common complaint, in fact it is the first I have heard of in 10- years on this site. Think about it, since this is not a common complaint, where am I to begin to guess? Now, if you overheated the great Cadillac aluminum engine,damage can be extensive and depending on the degree the engine was over heated, depends on if the engine is totally junk. That is a very common problem, but smoke coming out of the dash because of it, never seen it! You could be confusing smoke with steam, which would be a heater core on the passenger side, but you need to be specific and not use a guess.
I never appreciate some guy because I won't guess to make him happy giving me a 1 for a rating. I have helped thousands of people on this site I volunteer for with my own time. If you don't like my answer, take the car in somewhere to have the car looked at. Don't get all jerky to me. I will not tolerate it! I assist people to the best of my ability and my followers for 10 years will concur. I do not use my crystal ball in my answers and I told;d you that your description of smoke requires a physical examination of the car. If you don't like my answer, tough! Its accurate!
