Hi there. I just purchased a 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood, and it did not come with an owner's manual. I have looked online for help, but have been unsuccessful. I simply do not understand the fuel guage, as i have never owned a vehicle with this type of system. I would like to know about how to set it up, and when to hit the "reset" button. Also, where it should read the amount of fuel i have burned, it simply sais "L". Can you explain this? It would be very helpful. Thank you.

The easiest way to get an owners manual is to go on ebay. They are usualy found for $10 or less.

L means that it is warning you the fuel tank is close to empty. Over 4 gallons it will show the number of gallons in the tank.

If it is constantly on L and you know the tank is full, you have something wrong with the gauge and I don't do that diagnoses on these types of problems.

There is also a button on the speedo that will change all dash readings to metric which is kind of cool.
