Cadillac Repair: 1981 eldorado fuel problems, vacuum line, vacuum hose

Question
QUESTION: Thanks for following up with me. I have had codes pertaining to throttle body sensor and map sensor. I have cleared those codes and the map sensor and throttle body sensors have been replaced. I no longer have any codes while having the problem. I've had the injectors tested from no throtttle to full and the volt meter showed from 1-4.5 when pushing down on the acclerator which is within specs. The fuel filter is new.

ANSWER: WHERE is the MAP sensor mounted and is it the flat black plastic one ?.

Is the BARO sensor the black flat plastic one ?.

QUESTION: Both sensors are flat and black and are properly connected and are under the dash passenger side

Answer
There was a technical service bulletin instructing you to MOVE the MAP sensor to the engine compartment and attach it ABOVE the level of the throttle body,. I always mounted mine on the black round support tube that runs from the firewall to the raditor support. Just as long as you mount it ABOVE the level of the throttle body. When you go to pull the vacuum hose off of the MAP sensor at it's present location you will most likely find gasoline and or water in the rubber vacuum line.

They used to have a 3 way extension cable that plugged into the connector under the dash and was long enough to reach the engine compartment. You may have to make your own.

The BARO sensor can stay where it is.
