Cadillac Repair: 2005 CTS runs for 2 seconds, and stops, cadillac cts, transponder system

Hi, I have 2005 Cadillac CTS, I changed new battery and now car starts, runs for 2 to 3 seconds and engine stops, Please help....Thank you

Hello,

Unfortunately without being present at the vehicle, I have no way of knowing what is wrong. You did not even state why you changed the battery.

This may be an anti-theft problem with the transponder system in which for some reason it is no longer recognizing the key, but that is only a guess.

Instead of towing the car to a dealer, call around to service centers and see if they have the diagnostic equipment to find out what is wrong. You are dealing with a symptom here that could have hundreds of different problems.

This is not like repairing cars from the 60's. You have many on board computers, hundreds of sensors and lots more wiring. The computer must be scanned to determine the problem.
