Cadillac Repair: my rear suspension, caddy cars, inner fender

Question
QUESTION: my rear suspension does not raise anymore in my 2004 cadallac escalade. why is this and how do i fix it?

ANSWER: Hi Eric,

There are too many things that can be wrong to do a diagnoses over the Internet however, here are a couple things I would consider first.
I am not familiar where Cadillac puts the compressor on the Escalade. On both my Caddy cars, the compressor is mounted on the left inner fender under the hood. Check the fuse for the compressor first. See if there is power going to the compressor. To find the location of the compressor fuse, review your owners manual.

Good luck

QUESTION: so i apears that my car will raise every once in a while. more often not though. why is this? should i check the same things?

Answer
Hi Eric,

No you changed the question. Now you tell me at times which means the compressor works.

There is a leveling sensor at the rear axle that may be the problem.
Another question would be; does the rear end sit downward or is it level most of the time? If the shocks are full of air, the compressor will not raise the back each and every time.

Turn the key on. Sit on the rear bumper to see if the rear raises. All this is, is a load leveling system.
