Cadillac Repair: Pass Key Default, key cylinder, radio shack

damnit I have the pass Key default light appearing on my dash,so I installed a new key cylinder and a key that was programmed at the dealership but the car still wont start, should i use resistors from like Radio shack and if so can you please e-mail pictures or a diagram on how to do it i do have an idea but im not sure thank you
