Cadillac Repair: 1995 Cadillac Concours AC problem, intermittent problem, ac system

QUESTION: I have an intermittent problem with the AC system. When the compressor engages the AC works fine, and all controls work.  But every other time i turn it on the compressor will not engage and this will last for a few days.  I looked at the ACP DATA using the diagnostics function, and the ambient temp sensor was reading 35 degrees.  The outside temp display on the dashboard is always correct though when I'm driving.  What could cause these two different temp readings?

Are you POSITIVE that it is reading 35 and not 53 ? You will need, If necessary, Electrical schematics, test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.  I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
