Cadillac Repair: 1999 Seville Northstar - Oily smell, oil smell

My 1999 Seville has an oily smell after it gets warmed up. I suspect an oil leak dripping in the exhaust. Is it a common problem? What is the likely source of the oil?

Hi Tom,

    With an 8 year old car the suspects are engine oil, power steering fluid and trans fluid. However with the engine oil leak problems the North Star engines have I would say the oil pan gasket on rear main seal would allow oil to drip on the exhaust. But to be sure have your mechanic check it out because if there is enough oil and the exhaust is hot enough you could have a fire to contend with.
