the service engine soon light stays on is this the same as a check engine light. what should i do to get it to turn off? the car keeps telling me to service ride control whats that? and i think i need a new starter how much should i pay.

The starter has NOTHING to do with the Service Engine Soon light.

The Service Engine Soon light is ON, Because you have a fault in the electronics system.

You need to retrieve the COMPUTER CODES via the climate control panel.
