Cadillac Repair: 2001 Cadillac Diville, combustion chambers, head gaskets

Every now and then the check "engine light" will come on then go off. So when i take it to get it checked they cant say why it came on cause the light goes off. Also now it smokes when first started, kind of smells like something is burning!! (like burning wood, or paper)

Somebody is not being truethful here. Once the check engine light illuminates, It sets a code in the computer that will not go away unless manually erased.

If your smoke is blue in color, your burning engine oil thru the combustion chambers.

If your smoke is white, Your burning anti-freeze thru your combustion chambers.

Either color smoke is a high probable cause of head gaskets leaking.
