Cadillac Repair: 1991 Caddilac Brougham, crank shaft position sensor, throttle position sensor

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1991 Caddilac Brougham. The problem is when we come to a stop, it will stall unless we put it in nuetral and keep pressing on the gas. So far I have changed: throttle position sensor, oxygen sensor, knock sensor. And gave it a complete tune up. I am thinking it may be the crank shaft position sensor. The timing has also been changed. Could that be the problem (improper timing change). The car runs good while driving, but when I come to a stop it will idle for a few seconds, kick back then kill. THANK YOU!!

ANSWER: IS or HAS the check engine light ever illuminated on the dash while driving the car ?.

If YES, I need to know BEFORE you perorm a computer re-learn procedure AFTER you set the timing back to factory specs.

You will need picture and procedures of the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.  I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.

Do this test and tell me what CODES you get:

1. Turn ignition switch to the ON position. Do NOT start the engine.

2. On your climate control panel you will see and OFF button and the FAN ^ UP button.

3. Simultaneously push and hold the above said buttons and hold them IN for 3 seconds and then release them.

4. LETTERS & NUMBERS will start to appear on the FUEL DATA DISPLAY.

5. Let me know what LETTERS & NUMBERS display and along with each LETTER & NUMBER that displays will be either the word HISTORY or CURRENT.

6. The display will stop at .7.0
