Truck Repair: 1990.ford ranger. blown head gasket., blown head gasket, grayish color

Question
what can i do to keep this thing running alittle bit longer. someone told me to put eggkeep in it.is that true.or is there something i can put in the oil to help plug it.thank u

Answer
If the head gasket is blown there is not a quick fix,it will had to be replace ASAP before further unrepairable damaged can occur, like burned block surface.Water in the oil can lead to spun bearings in the bottom end & loss of oil pressure. To check for coolant in the oil, just remove oil fill cap & check for moisture & if it is bad enough, the oil will look thick & white/grayish color visuable in the oil fill hole.
