Question
yesterday, i started my 1996 cadallic and drove it to the end of my driveway, due to the light freeze here in conroe tx, i stopped and put my car in park in order to have time b/4 driving to clear up my windshield. about 5 minutes later i moved the shift lever to drive, the car didnt move, i tried all gears including reverse, wont move. i checked the fluid , bone dry, i added the correct amount to bring level up, wont move.i had to  hand push it out of the way, it rolls in the netural position only. is this serious are could it be something simple like a seloid thanks for your help  gary

Answer
Gary,
You drove it to the end of the driveway but then it wouldn't go from there? Very odd since the fluid would be lower when cold. If the fluid is at the proper level and still won't move, my guess is the pump is probably shot but I'd have a trans shop verify it.
