Cadillac Repair: wipers, purple wire, cadillac deville

ok here is a good question I have a 1994 Cadillac Deville 4.9 and the wipers stay on when you turn them back off they go off when you turn off the key and open the door. when they are on they only have low also no high or no delay could you answer this question for me thank you ???

Believe it or not, there's actually a few things that could cause that problem. The wiper system is actually at least semi-complicated. Here's what you need to do:
1. Unplug 6-pin wiper motor connector. Turn ignition ON. Set wiper switch to OFF position. Measure voltage at connector terminal "B" (grey wire). If voltage is zero, go to next step. If voltage exists,check for short to voltage on grey wire. If wire is ok, replace switch.
2. Unplug 3-pin wiper motor connector. Measure voltage at 3-pin connector terminal "A" (purple wire). If voltage is zero, repair short to voltage in yellow wire between 3-pin and 6-pin connectors. If voltage exists, check for short to voltage on purple wire between 3-pin connector and switch. If wire is ok, replace switch.
