Cadillac Repair: 1996 Cadillac sentinel lights would not turn off, fleetwood brougham, photocell

QUESTION: The sentinel on my car would not turn my lights out. They stayed on all day and drained the battery. I took out several fuses so that the lights would be turned off and then let the car charge.But I am not sure of the real problem. Is it the photocell and where is that or is it the sentinel switch that has burned out. I would like to try and fix it myself but I need to know how involved it is or if that is the real issue. Can you help?

Either the sentinel module has failed and or the sensor on the dash has failed. You will need pictures and test procedures with pictures to test the system. Unfortunately, Pictures are NOT allowed on this persons website.
