Cadillac Repair: 1999 CATERA, coolant fluid, vacuum line

Question
I KEEP LEAKING COOLANT FLUID AND OVERHEATING, I TOOK THE CAR TO BE CHECKED AND WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $550+. THEY SAID NEEDED HEATER BYPASS VALVE AT $149. AND 3 HOURS LABOR. I LOOKED THAT PART UP ONLINE AND CANT EVEN FIND IT. WHAT COULD THEY BE TALKING ABOUT AND HOW CAN I DO IT MYSELF CHEAPER.

Answer
Look in your operators manual and locate the POLLEN FILTER. You will see an access panel that requires remioval by one nut and behind this panel is the water valve.

1. Drain the radiator, remove the hoses from the heater valve and the vacuum line and replace the water valve.

30 minute job.
