Cadillac Repair: 1993 Caddy 60 Special 4.9 Vin B Airbag, airbag system, computer command

Question
I need to remove the driver side front seat to repair power seat motor/cable. I see a control module type box under seat. Is this the Airbag S.I.R. module? If so, how do I safely disable temporarily while I remove seat?
Thanks in advance, ken

Answer
Hi Ken,

Not to worry. That module is for the CCR or computer command ride. It tells the strut valves to be in the firm or soft ride mode. If you look from the backside there will be a 3/4" square plastic window on the RH side and the connector should not be yellow.

Just to put your mind at ease...any connector that has to do with the airbag system is a bright yellow. So go ahead and remove the seat and do your repair. In '94 with the new bodystyle change they started to put the SIR modle onder the LF seat. Bill
