Cadillac Repair: 1996 Cadillac STS Starting Problems, fuel pump relay, cadillac sts

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1996 Cadillac STS that had been pampered and has only 69,000 original miles on it.
Our problem is it takes 6-7 turns of the motor before it starts (cold or hot start). Rarely it starts on the first turn.
We have brought it in several times now and so far, we have had the fuel filter, fuel regulator and fuel pump all replaced.
Everything else works great (instrument panel, runs smooth all electrical).
Thank you in advance for your time.

ANSWER: my computer was down for a few days. Did you find your problem ?.

No, we still have not been able to figure out what is wrong. Any suggetions you may have would be great!
Thanks again.

Answer
Fuel pump test:

1. Get yourself a helper.

2. remove the gas cap.

3. have one person listen in the gas tank at the gas cap opening.

4. have the other person turn the ignition switch to the ON position ONLY so as the dash lights come on. Do NOT attempt to start the engine.

5. As soon as the ignition key is turned to the ON position, The person at the gas tank should hear the fuel pump run for TWO SECONDS and then it should STOP.

6. Does it ?.

If you do NOT hear it run, in most cases the fault is the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump..

What is your fuel pressure when you first turn ON the ignition key WITHOUT trying to start the engine ?.

Do you have adequate spark to the spark plugs when you first try to start it ?.
