Cadillac Repair: Heater Core, negative battery cable, cadillac sedan deville

Question
ALthough you aren't qualified in the right years I have a question for you involving a 1996 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. My father and I are auto mechanics, but need some help figuring out how to replace the heater core because it has developed a major leak and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. So, if you can, at your convenience can you tell me the fastest way to replace it because stop leak isn't working.

Answer
NEVER EVER use STOP LEAK in an aluminum engine as over time it starts to plug up every little coolant passage as the stop leak starts to turn into a cement like compound.

Remove negative battery cable.

Partially drain coolant from radiator.

Remove the big black plastic sound insulator from under the dash on the passengers side .

Remove AC/Heater programmer and electrical connections.

Remove heater core cover.

Remove both hoses from heater core.

Remove 2 screws that hold heater core in place.

Remove heater core.

Reverse procedure to install new heater core.
