Cadillac Repair: parking brake, vacuum hose, switch one

1997 Cadillac De Ville de Elegance northstar v8-problems-- parking brake now does not release as it should when car is shifted into gear,must use manual release. Also,car is very hard to start after driven;first start of the day is normal,then rest of day it takes 7 to 10 seconds of cranking on average to fire up.Thanks for any help!!

Under the dash on the top of the steering column there are 2 vacuum hoses attached to a switch. One of the hoses should have vacuum when the engine is running if there is NO vacuum at either hose, backtrack the vacuum hose to see where it has become disconnected and or has a split in the hose and replace it.
