CADILAC DEVILLE SAYS WAIT 3 MINS THEN START BUT WANT START HOW DO I UNLOCK MY TRANSMISSION IF SAT FOR 4 HOURS TRYING TO START IT AND IT JUST KEPT SAYING WAIT 3 MINS WHAT DO I DO

Hi Shaun,

    Typing in all capitol letters is rude and considered shouting. I will answer your question but please refrain from using all capitol letters in the future unless it is appropriate.

    To get your car engine to start you most likely will need to have the car towed to your mechanic who can either replace the ignition lock cylinder with keys or install a resistor in the wiring leading to the lock cylinder.

    I'm not sure how you mean the transmission is locked up. If you need to move the shifter and it won't move with your foot on the brake then just barely turn the key so the steering wheel unlocks but the dash lights stay off. At that point the shifter should be able to be moved from park.

    Of course your mechanic will need to test the system to verify whats wrong. Bill
