QUESTION: I have a 94 concourse with a 4.6 northstar engine and it stays in a very high idle speed what can be done

ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light illuminated on the dash or have you seen any MESSAGE DISPLAYS ?.

QUESTION: yes it has but not all the time. could it be the trottle control.

Answer
Perform this procedure:

1. Ignitin ON, Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttions on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Diagnostic codes will appear in the form of LETTERS and NUMBERS and with EACH CODE that displays on the fuel data display you will see the word HISTORY or CURRENT.

4. The display will stop at PCM?

5. Write down EACH CODE EXACTLY as it appears in the EXACT ORDER in which they appear and if EACH CODE is either CURRENT or HISTORY.

6. Turn OFF ignition.
