Cadillac Repair: cadillac code po 41, cam sensor, suspension data

Question
I have a 1995 Cadillac Deville 4.9l that has been producing code IO39 which I understand is loss of road sensing suspension data.  This is a history code and returns when started after codes are cleared.  A couple of days ago, I was driving and the car began cutting out violently but never stalled.  We got home and checked codes, upon which produced code po41, which I understand is Cam Sensor Signal problem.  I was wondering if you could tell me what this means exactly and where this cam sensor is located.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -

Answer
The CAM SENSOR is located in the distributor. It is also called a HALL EFFECT SENSOR.

Once you replace the cam sensor you MUST clear (erase) the code from the computer.

I can provide pictures and directives to replace this sensor. E-mail me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com
