Cadillac Repair: 1996 Seville AC problem, independent mechanics, number combinations

Replaced battery--got "very low refrigerant"---added refrigerant--everything fine.  Next day no AC.  compressor will not start same "very low refrigerant" code.  Guages show 80psi freon with compressor not running.  Can jump compressor on but that's it.  No local dealer and independent mechanics think 'computer' needs reprogramming.

The computer does NOT need reprogramming as there is no such thing.

You most likely have a leak in the AC system.

What CODES are you getting from the computer ?.

1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Codes in the form of LETTER/NUMBER combinations will appear with the word HISTORY or CURRENT below each code.

Write them down. Turn OFF key.
