Cadillac Repair: 2000 SLS A/C, mechanical background, answer test

Question
Thank you.
I did that at the very first. If I connect ground to the coil, it has +12 volts, then it (relay) operates. The other day I simply jumped the contacts together and it got cold but...a few minutes later the pressure release tripped.
Do you know if the clutch relay is operated by switching the ground side of the clutch relay coil?

I have a good electrical and mechanical background so I can attempt about any test.

Thank you!!

-----Question-----
My 2000 cadilac. cools only when I jump the clutch relay. No leaks, gauge says refrigerant good. The relay is receiving 12 volts to it. Mmmm I forgot to check relay coil terminal for ground. Once when I jumped the clutch and the a/c ran for awhile the pressure relief let go.

Any ideas?

Thanks Herb Bullis
-----Answer-----
Test the relay or swap it out with another identical one in the relay panel just to see if it works.

Answer
The AC relay coil is provided a ground path via the PCM computer via a signal from the AC PRESSURE SENSOR of which is located on the metal pipe right at the compressor connection of the pipe. I can e-mail you an electrical schematic if you e-mail me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com
