Our code is E 48 also E.E. came up can you help us with the meaning of these codes.  It is on a Cadillac Sedan DEville 1992.

Answer -
E48 means an intermittent EGR fault. CLEAR the code from the computer and see if it comes back.

Answer
1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and release them.

3. When you see .7.0 simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until you see F.0.0 and release the buttons and you will see .7.0 again.

4. Turn OFF ignition.

5. Drive car and see if the code reappears.
