1987-cadillac-deville-v8-4.1L

well, the car will not start.  the starter turns but not enough to catch.  if the battery is left in the car for any long period of time it will be drained of all energy.  the auto leveling light is almost always on.  and i received the error codes e26, e52, e95 and f40.  if you could give me some advice on how to fix this car, it would be deeply appreciated.

Answer -
First you need to CLEAR (erase) all the codes and see which ones come back.

Enter into diagnostics and after the codes appear the display will stop at .7.0

Push and hold the OFF and HI buttons until you see E.0.0

You will return to .7.0

Now push and hold the OFF and LO buttons until you see F.0.0

Turn ignition off for 30 seconds.

Re-enter into diagnostics and see which codes reappear and let me know which ones you got.

Answer
I changed the CLEARING procedure. try it this way.

First you need to CLEAR (erase) all the codes.

Enter into diagnostics and after the codes appear the display will then show .7.0

SIMULTANEOUSLY Push and hold the OFF and HI buttons for 2 seconds and you will see E.0.0

RELEASE the buttons and you will see .7.0

SIMULTANEOUSLY push and hold the OFF and LO buttons for 2 seconds and you will see F.0.0

RELEASE the buttons and you will see .7.0

Turn ignition off for 30 seconds.

Re-enter into diagnostics and see which codes reappear and let me know which ones you got.
