Cadillac Repair: Electrical, aluminum wire, fusible links

Question
Own 94 Deville 4.9L FWD that had to have starter installed in jan because it would not start. On a trip service engine soon light came on the went of two days later as the car was being turned off it sounded like the starter was tring to start the car. Would not start for a few minutes then after would start. Went for a short drive and turned it off. All electrical shut down battery has power but nothing will turn on. Could not find any burned out fuses.

Answer
Check all your FUSIBLE LINKS. They have a rubber coating as opposed to a plastic coating and the aluminum wire inside is like a fuse and melts when a short occurs. test both ends of these links at all terminal locations and probably find some at starter post on starter.

replace with IDENTICAL size fusible link wire.
