Question -
I recently bought a 1988 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. Everything worked great up until this problem. I installed an aftermarket CD player and 2 12" sub woofers recently and everything was great. The very next day the A/C caused my belt drive to lock up. To fix this problem I Simply turned my A/C off and moved on. Then the following morning when I started my car I noticed that the Fuel Data Center/Climate Control panels were not on. When I tried to use the Climate control it didn't work(I Cannot turn the A/C, Heat, or Defrost on) I was wondering if this was possibly a fuse or most likely a much more exspensive problem. If it is a fuse which fuse would I have to replace and with what type. Thank You

Answer -
Replace fuse #7 (25 amp)

Replaced that fuse and it still doest work. When I turn the car off for a split second before the key is all the way off both displays come back on and then turn off again. When they are on they display accurate info such as the exact temp. it was set for before the peoblem occured.?
Any more advice as to what is wrong or how to fix it would be muchly appriciated. Thank You

Answer
if you have an ANALOG cluster check fuse 16. If fuse 16 is OK, then you blew the BCM computer as all the displays eminate from the BCM.

IF YOU HAVE A digital CLUSTER, YOU BLEW THE BCM COMPUTER AS ALL THE DISPLAYS EMINATE FROM THE BCM COMPUTER.

Let me know which cluster you have, ANALOG or DIGITAL and I can e-mail you some electrical schematics.
