Cadillac Repair: Climate control module 98 cad deville, dishonest mechanics, dash vents

Question
Dealership checked my "check Engine Soon" and cleared problem.  When I picked up car - the blower fan did not work.  Left the car w/dealer again  - they said I had a bad climate sensor module and cost $1000 plus to replace.  since I did not have a problem whatsoever with the blower - how could this have happen at the dealership.  They have taken no responsibilty for the problem.  They said this happens without warning.  Could they have shorted the module out when checking the codes for the "check engine".

Answer
Highly unlikely. But there are some dishonest mechanics out there. I would check around the module and fan motor to see if any wires are unplugged.

These modules are well known for just failing at the most inconvenient time.

Call around and get a price on one and I will help you get it installed by telling you and showing you how to do it via pictures via e-mail.

Your problem is the fan motor does NOT work at all ?. NO AIR thru the dash vents.?
