ON MY 2001 CADILLAC DEVILLE WE LOST ONE KEY
I WAS TOLD IT'S $70.00 PLUS TO REPLACE IT AT THE DEALER THEY HAVE TO REPROGRAM THE NEW ONE
IF I WANT A SPARE I GUESS IT WOULD BE $ 140.00
COULD I CHANGE THE IGNITION SWITCH TO A GENERIC

Answer
You need special tools to remove the steering whel components to replace the cylinder which qould cost you 3 times as much than $70.00.

Anyway the lock cylinder is computer controlled by the CHIP in the key and the car won't start with a generic cylinder and key in it.
