Cadillac Repair: 98 deville air conditioning, coolant level, orifice tube

I recently purchased a 1998 deville with 91000 miles. Real nice one owner automobile. One problem though, the air conditioning works fine for around 20 miles then begins blowing warm air.There are no dash indicators coming on just stops cooling. leave it on econo for a while like a 1/2 hour, it will be cold again when put back on auto but not for as long. Had the pressures tested all ok. Outside temp usually over 80.Checked the coolant level and had to add 1/2 gal. thought I had it fixed, but no. Thanks for your help.  DC

Could be a faulty low or high pressure switch. Could be overcharged with freon. Could be a problem with the cooling fans. Could be an orifice tube restriction.
