I own a 96 caddy deville  I am replacing the ac compressor any help to do this job .I have already removed the compressor. The system was empty due to a leak. Please can you tell me where  the orifice is located  I purchased this and an  accumulator to repair it.
Answer -
FIRST you need a VACUUM PUMP to extract all the air from the system BEFORE you add REFRIGERANT OIL and FREON to the system AFTER you install all of your necessary parts.

You can purchase an orifice tube and an accumulator from most any auto parts store.

Your next problem is figuring out HOW MUCH REFRIGERANT oil to put back into the compressor, and the accumulator  and the rest of the system AFTER you completly FLUSH out the entire system with a flusing machine.

You just can't buy a compressor, Tube and accunmulator and slap it on and put freon in it.

You need all the equipment, expertise and knowledge of the syatem.

What did I miss here ? I said I purchased the orifice tube and the accumulator.I asked if you knew where the orifice was located ..I GUESS YOU DON'T.I  DIDN'T say I was going to recharge the system myself,I have more common sense to know that you do not open an ac system under pressure .I Don't NEED the equipment, Why the hell would I want to own that for. That's why they have service centers...And I do have knowledge of the SYSTEM.Thats why I installed all the equipment and had the service center recharge it.and they couldnt get it to work till I told them to disconnect the positive terminal on the battery to clear the computer memory and quess what IT WORKED..Thanks for nothing

Answer
99% of the questions that I get come from NOVICE people who know nothing or very little about A/C repair.

I am NOT a mind reader and cannot predict how mych mechanical knowledge you have.

YES, I know where the orifice tube is located, But I needed to know your KNOWLEDGE of the system of which you DID NOT CARE TO SHARE.

since you made the brilliant determination of disconnecting the battery terminal to CLEAR the CODES which is NOT the proper way to CLEAR the CODES you have succeeded in putting in a FALSE code into the computer that will drive the next technician NUTS trying to find out WHY this code is in there because yo with your LOUST ATTITUDE will NOT care to share with him that you DISCONNECTED the BATTERY.

Next time you ned HELP, ASK SOMEONE else, As your on my DO NOT ANSWER list due to your RUDENESS.
