89 cadillac eldorado (FWD) bought car with legitimate title with lost key.  Have tried to get help from GM and local dealer.  Have tried different resistances in key switch circuit to no avail.  Once the anti-theft system is activated is it necessary to reset the BCM for this system?  If not what is your fix for the lost key situation?  I have a replacement tumbler set with new key, but no resistor in key.      Thanks for the help.

What did they tell you ?.

I was told that there were no records available that went back to 1989.  Local dealer said same thing.  Local locksmith told me about trying to find the correct resistance for the circuit.  I have inserted a 20K ohm potentiometer in the ignition circuit and have tried various resistance values from 100 ohms to 5K ohms and the anti theft is still engaged and still disables the starting system.
