Cadillac Repair: 1996 Cad - trunk and fuel lid release, keyfob, battery voltage

I have a 1996 Cad Sedan Deville.  The trunk and the fuel lid have stopped opening by both the buttons on the dash and the remote keyfob.  I have checked the fuses and they are good.  What could be the cause?

Answer
Since BOTH do not work at either the buttons in the car or on the remote you need to check both buttons for battery voltage at one of the 2 terminals at the buttons inside the car.
