Cadillac Repair: Cadillac Repair, cadillac deville, diagnostic testing

Question
My name is Isaac and I have a 1991 Cadillac DeVille V8. The other day I was getting ready leave my home but I not able to. Reason, my car would not start. It wouldn't say anything. When I trun the key, there was nothing, no click, not nothing. First I thought the starter. In the past, sometimes, when I turn the key, I would hear a click, didn't start and the second attempt the car would start. So naturally I thought the starter. I purchased a new starter and installed it and still nothing. I then checked the starter with a battery from my other vehicle and it was good. The only other thing I can think of would be the ignition switch. Now I don't want to make the same mistake twice by purchasing the switch and that not be the problem. What do you think? Is there a way to test the switch? Any info you may have would be appreciated. Thank You.

Answer
You more likely have a problem in your ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM. Look in your operators manual where it tells you how to reset the system.

Other than this possibility there are just to many possible causes that would take numerous diagnostic testing in order to determine your fault.
