my car was jerking  on the freeway while tring to accelerate i changed the catalytic converter and it no longer jerks but it wont accelerate as fast as before. could this be my exaust system or transmission. 1991 Cadillac sedan deville

Hi Ken, I'm not sure why changing the catalytic converter would shop a car from jerking. If misses and jerking are the same thing then I would think you would want to check fuel pressure and tune-up stuff like plugs, wires, cap and rotor and fuel injectors. Maybe whoever changed the cat. didn't get the oxygen sensor wire reconnected or something eles. This sounds like something that would need to be driven to experriance the problem and then go from there to find the fix. Sorry I can't be more help. Bill
