Cadillac Repair: Keyless Programming For 1994 Cadillac Deville, cadillac deville, trunk pull down

I bought a keyless remote for my 1994 Cadillac deville, I found some instructions online but confused at the first part.
It says to "ground the black wire at the trunk pull down unit". I don't know what the heck they're talking about. Could I get some help please?

Hi Gil, What they want you to do is make a wire with a terminal on one end that will slide into/touch the black wire terminal at the programming connector and put a clip on the other end so you can clip it to some bare metal/ground it in the trunk. That puts the keyless entry module in program mode. There should be a 3wire connector loose behind the panel by the trunk pull down motor. Remove that panel and you should see it. Don't feel too bad. As complicated as things are getting with cars I have to read things several times when they aren't written as clearly as they could be also. Hope that helps. Bill
