Cadillac Repair: disc brakes, cross hatch design, metallic brake pads

Question
i have a 1998 deville i have had problems with the brakes since the car was new by the time it had 40,000 miles on it the rotors had been turned 4 times
i recently replaced the front brakes with new rotors ,pads and calipers i have replaced the calipers now 2 times because they have a slight squeaking when i first take off after using the brakes i have even replaced the flexible hoses to the calipers as well
the Only thing left i can think of is maybe the new pads are a little parger than they should be or they are needing bround down a little where they slide in the grove for them
any ideas welcome

Answer
Squeeking brakes has always and will continue to be a problem. You have options which are:

1. Purchase  NON-METALLIC brake pads of which wear out much faster than metallic brake pads.

2. have the rotors cut to a ROUGHER finish or which will also cause shorter life span of the non-metallic brake pads.

Some machine shops can resurface the rotors in a cross-hatch design and or machine grooves in the rotors also.

There are numerous tricks that can be done to stop the noisy brakes. Above seems to be the most popular.
