Cadillac Repair: idler pulley, pulley bolt, autohelp

Question -
While replacing the idler pulley on my eldorado a concave nut fell off the pulley/bolt somewhere. I'm not sure if it goes between the bolt and the pulley or between the pulley and the engine.  Also I'm not sure if the concave part faces towards the engine or away from it.  Also I am experiencing some growling noise under the hood and my coolant seems to be emptying faster than usual.  Is the noise b/c my water pump is going bad....I had a mechanic recently tell me that it may need replacing soon?!

Without actually seeing this component, I honestly cannot tell you.

I know I have put many of these on but just can't recall it without seeing it.

If you can take some pictures of the pulley assembly and this nut I can most likely after seeing it and the pulley components tell you how to re-assemble it.
