Cadillac Repair: Heated seats and sun roof, clock circuit, moon roof

Question
We have a 2000 Catera - and up until the end of December all was running well.  We noticed that the driver and passenger heated seats do not work and that the sunroof is not working either.  We have replaced the fuses and still nothing.  To have them both go at the same time seems more than just bad luck.  So before we take it in to get looked at and charged an arm and a leg for it - could you give us some other things to try or at least some advise as to what it may be so that we can go into the shop with some educated questions?  Also, recently I had a morning when the car started up fine but I noticed that the clock had to be reset - almost like the battery had a power failure.  Could these be related?  I can't honestly remember which came first - the power failure or the problem with the heated seats
Thank you very much.

Answer
Hi Stephanie, Looks like the seats and moon roof both share the same ground wire and if loose or corroded won't allow eithor to work. G103 is located under the hood somewhere behind the LH headlamp assembly. The picture is very vague as to location on the frame or side sheetmetal and how far back. It would be a black wire useing a ring terminal with a bolt through it. Finding the ground terminal and tightening it, or removing cleaning and tightening it back up might get the power flowing again. The clock circuit appears to use a differant ground but if everytime the key is turned off and next time the clock resets upon the next start then it too might be on that circuit. Sounds like you might need the help of a sharp tech because once the problem has beed found and corrected there is a special procedure for how to relearn the sunroof opening/closeing. Hopefully I was of some help. Bill
