Cadillac Repair: car will stop runing, position sensors, campagn

  cadillac 2000 deville with 36000 miles.car will stop running. if going over 5 miles anhour  the car will start again,slower will not start on its own. will start with starter.

Hi Mitchell, Back when this model first came out there was a campagn for this problem that had the dealer replace both crankshaft position sensors for free. Maybe it hasn't been done yet. Take your car to the dealer and have them check the VIN number. Even if it has been done one of the sensors might be defective and with out takeing the car in it would be tough to tell what is going on. This is a classic symptom of a module going bad such as an ignition module. Or it could be a fuel pump delivery issue but without testing it is tough to say what system or part is at fault. Bill
