Cadillac Repair: Brake lights not working, youy, brake switch

Hi Bill, Just received a fix it ticket as a result of no rear brake lights working.  I dont have a owners manual to check on fuse number.  No lights working in the back at all.  Any ideas ?

Hi Bernie, Since youy don't say what vehicle has no brake lights the best I can do is tell you to put on the hazzard lights and that will test some of the brake light circuit. If the lights work then take a voltmeter or 12 volt test light and test the wires at the brake switch...you will need a wiring diagram...One side will have voltage all the time and the other side only with the brake pedal pushed. Testing at various points in the circuit will help isolate where the problem is. Hope that helps. Bill
