How do you replace a battery cable on a 1998 Cadillac Catera?
Answer -
Hi Miriam, Which one...negative or positive? Bill

Hi Bill.  The cable is the positive one.  Thanks for responding so quickly and I look forward to seeing your response, hopefully later today.

Answer
Hi Miriam, I haven't had to replace a cable yet and the procedure in the book only says how to replace the neg. cable so the positive one must be self explanitory in the eyes of the engineers at GM. You will need to investigate how best to remove and reinstall it by tracing where the cabe starts and ends. According to the wirig diagram 2 cables start at the battery and one goes to the starter and the other to the power distribution fuse box which is above the battery. Some are a one piece connector with 2 or more cables and othere are just a 1 wire cable.  Remember to disconnect the neg. battery cable at the battery first so you don't short anything out. Sorry I can't be more help. Bill
