Cadillac Repair: alternator belt, electrical sys, componant

i have a 1989 eldorado v8 4.5. my belt broke this am and the light came on saying that my battery is a no charge but the car was running. my steering wheel also lost power. the moniter sys also said to check my electrical sys. will this all be fixed once i get someone to put my belt on. or is there a problem with my electriical sys.

Hi Aundrea, All should be back to nornal once the belt is put on. You may have a pulley that froze up and need to check them all before installing the belt because that might be why the belt broke. Replaceing that componant and the belt would then be required. Bill
