QUESTION: Hi Tom. The reason for removing the cluster is 3 out of 6 gauges didn't work. Did research found that the stepper motors were prone to fail also that it had been repaired 2 other times with stickers from 2 other electronic stores. And as for the windows, only the front left worked and was attempting to repair that problem. I was using a ohm meter to read out the voltages which i know it had as I stated the 1 window worked till I removed the cluster. So I put everything back together just to see if things would go back to where I started from and it didn't, no power to the window and the car would not start. And on LCD read out for the car read something about security. This ones got me stumped unlike my other kids car a Buick Rainier which I repaired the stepper motors in without a hitch. Oh and yes he drove the car without the cluster. Thanks Tom I really appreciate the response and any input.

Answer
HI DANNY, THIS SOUNDS LIKE A BODY CONTROL MODULE RELEARN PROBLEM..TRY TO REMOVE THE POST POST OFF THE BATTERY FOR 1/2 HOUR RECONNECT AND SEE IF THE CAR WILL START.IF NOT. TURN THE KEY ON AND THE SECURITY LIGHT WILL EITHER FLASH OR STAY ON. WHEN IT GOES OUT,TURN THE KEY OFF AND AND BACK ON TO START SEE IF IT DOES..YOU MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE PASS LOCK SYSTEM IN THE COLUMN STARTING TO GO BAD...AS FAR AS THE GAUGES GO YOU MAYBE CORRECT ON THIS..BUT LETS GET THIS GOING FIRST,,AND GO FROM THERE.THE WINDOW ALL YOU REALLY NEED IS A TEST LIGHT AND REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL ON ANY OF THE WINDOWS THAT DO NOT WORK. CK FOR POWER AT THE PLUG HARNESS GOING TO THE WINDOW MOTOR UP AND DOWN JUST MOVE THE TEST LIGHT AROUND THE PLUG WHEN MOVING THE WINDOW SWITCH AND THE POWER SHOULD MOVE WITH IT..IF NO POWER TO THIS POINT BEING IT IS 3 WINDOWS YOU MAY HAVE BAD MASTER SWITCH. POWER GOES THROUGH THIS TO THE OTHER SWITCHES. YOU COULD REMOVE THE MASTER SWITCH OFF THE DRIVERS DOOR AND CK AGAIN WITH YOUR TEST LIGHT,IF NO POWER COMING OUT OF THIS SWITCH TO THE WINDOWS THAT ARE NOT WORKING THE SWITCH IS AT FAULT..START OUT BY CHECKING THE POWER TO THE DRIVERS WINDOW THAT IS WORKING AND THIS WILL LEAD YOU IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION. HOPE THIS HELP YOU AND GOOD LUCK,,,TOM
