Chevrolet Repair: More from the Silverado Saga, nra spokesperson, bilstein shocks

Question
Hey Tom...its your favorite redneck from pennsyltucky. Still havent gotten the Silverado on the road. Seems like one thing after another with it. However...I did get the 97 on the road, the one with the bad tranny I got off my buddy...it runs like a raped ape. The steering has a bunch of play in it...but I'm not too concerned about that at th moment. Anyhow, here's the latest dumb question about my 94 Silverado. I need new front shocks. Badly. Being that my truck is lifted, getting shocks can get pricy. I have a set of Bilstein shocks in my basement. Model # F4-B46-2130-H0. They came from my 2000 Dodge Ram rear end. The mounting is the same...but theyre a bit longer than what I need. Can I use them as front shocks for my 94? It would be great if I could.

Answer
HI CHRIS,[ AGAIN ]I WAS GETTING WORRIED ABOUT YOU,HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU IN A WHILE !!!! TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION I DONT SEE WHY THEY WOULD NOT WORK AS LONG AS THE BOLT UP CORRECTLY.. BEING A LITTLE LONGER SHOUND NOT MATTER,SHORTER WOULD..JUST CK TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN THE TRUCK WOULD GET LOADED DOWN THAT THERE IS STILL ROOM IN THE SHOCK TO GIVE A BIT..IF THEY RAM DOWN ON THEMSELVES THIS WILL DESTROY THE SEAL IN THEM..GOOD LUCK..YOUR RED NECK,,PRO NRA SPOKESPERSON TOM......YOU ARE IN THE NRA ARE YOU NOT ??? IF NOT, I WILL SEND YOU A FORM OUT !!
