Chevrolet Repair: 1994 chevy diesle turbo 2500 trk, quick responce, chevrolet repair

numbers in slots   QUESTION: Mr.Tom i am at a loss on this one my truck had a dash fire and burned some wires but i still drove the truck she is a tough ole gal i pulled the dash and started repairing wire by wire to make sure not to cross any up. i found a whitish plastic box that was just in the middle of the harness anyway after fixing the wires the truck would only grunt when trying to start and the volt meter went backwards.so the phone calls started to start replacing parts no one could tell me what this whitish box is till i call one guy and he said it was like a lojack but would not tell me how to fix my problem because he don't make money that way.i am a disable veteran and have little to live on.my baby is a 1994 2500 silvarado excab 6.5 diesel turbo Manuel 4x2 power windows and locks ,a/c it has a salvage title and my name is Steve

QUESTION: Mr.Tom that is correct no power to starter at all.i am going to go cut all the factory tape off and i will let you know what i find i don't know where you are but here in oklahoma it is a cool 101 as the temp with a index of 108 going out to sweat tolk to you if i don'y die first if i do i will my problem truck to you.

HI STEVE ,,I AM IN ROCHESTER NY 96 DEGRES NOW..HOT HOT HOT...IF YOU CAN GET ON THE IGNTION SWITCH DOWN AT THE LOWER SIDE OF THE STEERING COLUMN AND PUT 12 VOLTS ON THE PURPLE WIRE. THIS SHOULD CRANK THE ENG. THIS PURPLE WIRE GOES TO THE STARTER SIDE OF THE SOLENOID TO ENERGIZE THE STARTER...TRY THIS AND SEE IF THIS WORKS.IF SO LET ME KNOW.IF NOT WIRE IS BURNED OR BROKEN FROM SWITCH DOWN OR THERE IS NO POWER TO THE MAIN STARTER CABLE.THE BIG BATTERY CBALE SHOULD BE HOT ALL THE TIME [12 VOLTS] CK THAT AS WELL.LET ME KNOW,,, TOM..
